In the Visegrad countries, dynamic urbanization of the central regions and shrinking of the peripheral areas can be seen in parallel, which challenges to urban development experts, policy makers, investors and the inhabitants. In the coming years main questions of urban development are the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, changes in the regulations of urban development, the challenges of climate crisis/protection, Industry4.0 and the circular economy, and the increasing role of functional urban areas. Cross-border urban networks and international knowledge sharing contribute to the understanding and management of processes, including the use of complex methods. The technological development of recent years has also initiated significant digitization processes in the urban development and planning, which can already be widely applied in daily working processes. Our research presents answers to the above challenges in the Visegrad countries along the shifting of urban planning systems.

Kihívások és változások: a városfejlesztés jövőbeli útjai a visegrádi országokban (angol nyelvű esemény)
A visegrádi országokban párhuzamosan láthatjuk a központi régiók dinamikus urbanizációját és periférikus térségek leszakadását, ami újabb és újabb kihívások elé állítja a városfejlesztési szakértőket, politikai döntéshozókat, befektetőket és a lakosságot is. A következő évek városfejlesztésének fő kérdései a COVID-19 járvány hatása, a városfejlesztés szabályozási környezetének változása, valamint a klímavédelem, az Ipar4.0 és a körkörös gazdaság kihívásai, a funkcionális várostérségek előtérbe kerülése körül körvonalazódnak. A határokon átívelő városhálózatok, a nemzetközi tudásmegosztás hozzájárul folyamatok megértéséhez és kezeléséhez, többek között komplex módszerek alkalmazásával. Az utóbbi évek technológiai fejlődése a városfejlesztés és tervezés terén is jelentős digitalizációs folyamatokat indított el, amik már a mindennapi munkafolyamatokban is széles körben alkalmazhatóak. Kutatásunk a visegrádi országokban a szabályozási környezet változása mentén adható válaszokat mutatja be fenti kihívásokra vonatkozóan.
